Certificate In Pastoral Ministries   (click here for course descriptions)

Philosophy of the Curriculum

This is a leadership training programme leading to a Certificate in Pastoral Ministries. It is offered one month per year for three consecutive years. Under this programme church leaders who cannot attend a residential programme of study which requires them to be away from home can attain knowledge and skills which will help them to become better church leaders.

The programme of study focuses primarily upon Biblical and practical studies. A student needs a total of 48 credit hours for graduation. The following courses are offered by years.

Philosophy of the Curriculum

This three-year programme is designed for Christian leaders who want to improve their Bible and religious knowledge as well as leadership skills so as to operate effectively as pastoral ministers and church leaders.

The programme of full-time study focuses extensively upon Biblical and practical studies. A student requires a total of 146 credit hours for graduation. The following is the breakdown of total credits into major curriculum sub-divisions.

 

Bachelor of Arts in Theology (Hons Degree)   (click here for course descriptions)

Philosophy of the Curriculum

The purpose of the B. A. in Theology is to provide suitably qualified religious leaders (or those aspiring to Religious leadership) with a higher level of education that will equip them to exercise appropriate leadership in a variety of institutions and situations related to religious service especially those connected with Christian faith and mission.

The programme also lays a foundation for graduate studies in which Christian leaders might further develop their capacities for service.

Makeup of BA Theology Curriculum

The curriculum for the Bachelor’s Degree is composed of several parts. The Five Major Parts consist of: 1) Bible Classes, 2) General Studies Classes, 3) Religion Classes, 4) Professional Studies Classes, and 5) Practical Studies Classes.
The General Studies classes, Religion classes, and Professional Studies classes are required courses for all students.
The Bible Classes are separated into two parts: required classes (60 credits) and elective classes (each student must select 4 additional Bible classes (40 credits) from 8 classes offered).
Each student will also be able to select 2 General Elective classes (for 20 credits).
In the Practical Studies area, four minors are offered, of which each student will select two for his/her practical emphasis. The four areas are: Church Leadership, Christian Education/Youth Ministries, Cross-Cultural Ministries, and Languages.

 

Bachelor Of Arts Development Management (Hons Degree)   (click here for course descriptions)

Philosophy of Curriculum

The purpose of the B.A. in Development Management is to provide suitably qualified leaders with a higher level of education and a Christian worldview that will equip them to exercise appropriate leadership in a variety of NGOs, NPOs, and Christian development organizations who are working to improve the living conditions and give hope to a new generation of Ghanaians.

The programme also lays a foundation for graduate studies in which these leaders might further develop their capacities for service.

Employment Prospects

The graduate of this programme will be equipped to work as a leader of a developmental team (NGOs, NPOs, District Assemblies etc.) giving guidance and encouragement to the team members, helping them to enter and understand new communities, and help bridge the gap that is often present in communication and action between the developmental organization and the communities in which they work.

The curriculum for the Bachelor’s Degree is composed of several parts, which include: 1) Professional Studies Classes, 2) General Studies Classes, 3)  Christian Foundation Classes, and 4) two sets of Practical Studies Classes. The Professional Studies classes, General Studies classes, and Christian Foundation classes are required courses for all students.  The Practical Studies classes offer courses in five areas: 1) Community Micro-Finance, 2)  Community Health, and 3) Community Agriculture 4) Community Leadership.  Each student with advice from his/her sponsors and the College will choose two of these Practical Studies elective areas in which to specialize.   

 

Master Of Arts In Christian Organizational Leadership   (click here for course descriptions)

Philosophy of the Curriculum

The primary objective of the Master of Arts in Christian Organizational Leadership degree is to provide training and education that focuses on the specific needs and issues facing Christian leaders of organisations serving West Africa. Some of those needs addressed by this programme are modelling servant leadership, wise stewardship of financial and human resources, financial management and planning from a Biblical perspective, assessing cultural and economic realities of the regions the organisation serves, and strategic management in a world that is in constant change.

Delivery of the MA Curriculum

The taught requirement of the programme is delivered full-time over two semesters with inter-semester intensive programmes. Thirty hours will be delivered during the two semesters and fifteen hours in intensive seminars during Christmas and Long vacations. The intensive seminars will be taught by Professors from American Seminaries and Colleges overseen by the Seminary of the Nations (SON), headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The required research or practicum project of six credit hours is to be completed in the year following the completion of taught classes. Students wishing to study part-time will have to negotiate individual agreements with the College. Admission into the programme is in August of each year.
